ANIMATION 3D Theme Packs E-on Software has unveiled its Vue 7 T-Packs (Thematic Packs) for 3D artists. Vue 7 T-Packs include the Vue 7 Core Application and a collection of thematic content centered on Fantasy, Science Fiction, or Fairy Tale. The software tools and ready-made content contained in Vue 7 T-Packs aid artists in producing and animating themed 3D images and video clips. Each Vue 7 T-Pack features more than $100 worth of exclusive content, such as 3D virtual sets, models, and atmosphere presets, which is compatible with all 12 Vue 7 expansion modules. Vue 7 Pioneer, designed to introduce users to the world of 3D, provides newcomers and casual artists with landscape-creation tools to build and render their own 3D worlds. A 32- and 64- bit application for Windows and Mac OS X operating systems (available in English, German, and French), Pioneer can be extended with 12 optional modules that add functionality to the base application. The new motion graph- ics/video effects tool is an FxPlug appli- cation that works with Apple's Final Cut Studio. nVeil employs a new Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) fi le-fi ltering engine to fi lter full-motion, color video clips through SVG "veils" to create immersive and stun- ning imagery. nVeil provides digital artists and motion graphic editors with a library of veils with which to transform clips into full-motion, stained-glass-like images for use as wipes, transitions, or logo design treatments. Artists can create their own SVG veils, or use a veil custom designed for them by Storek Studio. To transform a video into a unique work of art, digital artists apply nVeil as a video effect to a video clip, choose a veil, and adjust settings with eight parameters. The resulting nVeil effect is similar to the changing stained-glass design seen through a kaleidoscope. nVeil is priced at $99 and includes a library of 60 veils. It boasts an improved OpenGL preview display with new camera and light pointer tools, depth of field, and support for Version 8.5 of Pixar's RenderMan-compliant 3Delight render engine. Daz Studio 3 Advanced, targeted at 3D animators, designers, and illustrators, boasts such professional-level features as advanced render effects and shaders, Collada import and export, anima- tion keyframe editing, figure mixing, and support for 64-bit systems. Now available for Windows XP or higher and Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, Daz Studio 3 is free to registered Daz 3D members. Daz Studio 3 Advanced is now available pre-confi g- ured with Daz 3D content at a price of $150. Daz Studio 3 Advanced is also offered with a suite of Daz 3D advanced content creation plug-ins in the Daz Studio Advanced Bundle. Bonzai3d combines an intui- tive interface with sculpting and classic modeling tools, deformations, a library of 3D content, organic forms, and real-time rendering.
