EW YORK — Through its licensing relationship with Microsoft Game Studios, Sumthing Else Music Works has released the
Halo: Reach Original Soundtrack, featuring the original score com- posed by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori. Halo: Reach (www.halo.xbox.com) was created by developer Bungie Studios for exclusive play on the Xbox 360.The latest game is the prequel to the best-selling Xbox franchise of all time, Halo 2: Volume One. The Halo: Reach Original Soundtrack was made available for dig- ital download on Sumthing Digital (www.sumthingdigi- tal.com) and on iTunes on September 14, coinciding with the game’s release. Later that month, a two- disc CD set was released in retail outlets. “Mike and I are pleased
Two hours of music taken from the five hours created for the game itself.
to be able to release the soundtrack to Reach,” says composer Martin O’Don- nell.“We’ve been compos- ing and producing music for Bungie’s Halo universe since 1999 and this sound- track represents the cul-
mination of our efforts. Once again we were able to work with other composers, C. Paul Johnson and Stan LePard, along with recording much of this music at Studio X in Seattle with the Northwest Sinfonia and Choir. This is about two hours’ worth of music culled from the more than five hours of music actually pro- duced for the game itself.”
