4 July 2009 E-on Software Uncovers Vue 7.5 PRODUCT: MODELING E-on software, maker of the Vue soft- ware for creating natural 3D environ- ments, has rolled out Vue 7.5 xStream and Vue 7.5 Infi nite. Release 7.5 of Vue xStream and Infi - nite adds new functionality to the Vue 7 offering. Vue xStream and Vue Infi nite are the company's fl agship solutions for the creation of natural 3D environments. While Vue Infi nite is a stand-alone appli- cation, Vue xStream operates seam- lessly inside Autodesk's 3ds Max, Maya, or Softimage; NewTek's LightWave; and Maxon's Cinema 4D. Designed for graphics professionals, these products combine features that easily integrate into existing production pipelines. Among the features in Release 7.5 is support for the V-Ray renderer for 3ds Max and EcoSystem painting for Soft- image, both within xStream. The release also enables the creation of color and alpha masks of single clouds and cloud layers in a multi-pass renderer, camera mapping to cut animation render times, spherical and planetary procedural terrains with infi nite levels of detail, spherical cloudscapes (procedural or based on real-world/modifi ed cloud maps), material painting and effects- driven material mapping in the Terrain Editor, and more. Vue 7.5 xStream retails for $1495, while Vue 7.5 Infi nite sells for $895. Upgrade pricing for both is available. Users who subscribed to a Standard or Premium maintenance plan receive the upgrade to the corresponding Vue 7.5 product at no charge. PRODUCT: PLM Right Hemisphere, maker of Visual Enterprise solutions, revealed a feature-rich release of its Deep Exploration client software. Available in August, Deep Exploration 6 has evolved to become highly integrated into Right Hemisphere's visual solutions and supporting technology infrastructure. Key new features include a highly confi gurable workfl ow- oriented user interface; improved ability to view, select, and navigate complex 3D models with new volume selection and real-time massive model navigation; a new XML fi le format to facilitate integration with enterprise systems; and an all-new photorealistic rendering engine. The redesigned user interface supports a variety of end-user tasks, workfl ows, and deliverables. The new UI is streamlined, customizable, and allows users to optimize their screen real estate for higher productivity. The heart of the new UI is the Layout Manager, which manages the visibility and order of the application's tool tabs, facilitating specifi c functionally-orient- ed workfl ows. The tool tabs present only the capabilities and panels required for the specifi c task at hand and guide the user through the necessary steps to create an end deliverable, such as a 2D technical illustration, a set of manufacturing work instructions, or a photorealistic 3D image. Deep Exploration 6 also includes an entirely new rendering engine, which employs HDR technology. HDR techniques support a wider range of luminance in a 3D scene, from direct sunlight to the subtlest of shadows. With this HDR rendering engine, Deep Exploration 6 users can drag and drop HDR materials, environment maps, and backgrounds into a 3D scene to produce hyper-realistic imagery quickly and easily. Additionally, Version 6 contains new tools and features to enable users to navigate, select, and review large, complex 3D models. Users will be able to view large CAD assem- blies—of up to 500 million polygons and 200,000 unique parts or larger that have been converted by Right Hemisphere's next-generation Deep Server software, available later this year—using standard desktop PCs. The large-model naviga- tion feature allows users to load and interact with these large, complex models in real time. With the new Volume Select tool, users can choose an area of a model by defi ning variables of the geometric enve- lope, the area inside a square, sphere, or rectangle. Using the tool, the person can then search and explore the model without having to locate the assembly or part numbers in the bill of materials. Also in Deep Exploration 6, the entire scene graph, or data structure, can now be described by XML. Combining the XML-based Deep Server processing engine with the new XML data structure enables Right Hemisphere to achieve a more seamless level of integration with customers' existing enterprise systems. Right Hemisphere's Deep Exploration 6 software will ship in August and be available in a variety of license types. Right Hemisphere Unveils Deep Exploration 6 Client Software
