HOTEL HAPPENINGS INTRODUCING THE GRAND BALLROOM AND MEETING SPACE AT FOUR SEASONS HOTEL DENVER, AND A SPECIAL OFFER Rooftop Terrace Creates a Resort-Like Sanctuary in the City, and Versatile Meeting Space Accommodates a Variety of Events Looking for a meeting space that is as elegant as it is functional? An event space that will dazzle even the most discern- ing group of VIPs? The meeting space at Four Seasons Hotel Denver, a new 239-room hotel slated to open this fall, brings a breath of fresh air to the city’s event scene, providing a modern, multi-functional meeting and event space in a prime downtown Denver location. Four Seasons Hotel Denver is in the central business and theatre district, bordering Lower Downtown – also known as “LoDo” – and within walking distance to the Colorado Convention Center. The meeting space is now available for bookings as early as November 2010. Introductory Offer While Four Seasons Hotel Denver prepares for its grand opening, a new pack- age is being offered to groups who book now through October 31, 2010. The Perfect 10 package, offering a series of value-adds, is valid for any group booking 10 rooms a night or more at Four Seasons Hotel Denver for programs operating between November 1, 2010 and December 30, 2011. The Gathering Place As they enter the lobby of Four Seasons Hotel Denver, guests will marvel at the contemporary, chic décor, which features gleaming marble floors, custom mill- work in the walls, a dual-sided marble fireplace, cozy residential-style areas for networking, and walls of windows. Modern furnishings are warm and inviting, and a grand glass staircase leads up to the meeting space. In a city where it’s common for meeting space to be housed in the basement level, Four Seasons Hotel Denver offers a bright, fresh alternative with 17,000 sq. ft. (1,579 square metres) of meeting space on the second floor. Allowing for ample natural light to filter through the oversized windows, the pre-function area features open, airy prome- nades and a sophisticated color scheme of ivory and gold complemented by glit- tering chandeliers. Six of the meeting rooms have windows, including the two main ballrooms. The Cottonwood, the junior ballroom, is 3,420 sq. ft. (318 square metres) and can seat approximately 240 people. The Grand Ballroom, at 5,200 sq. ft. (483 square metres), can seat approximately 350 people. Both ballrooms can be divided into two, and both feature floor-to-ceiling win- dows. Custom menus will be artfully designed and prepared by Executive Chef Simon Purvis, a culinary talent who joins Four Seasons Hotel Denver from Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole. The ballroom space will surely be in demand for wed- dings, corporate events, bar and bat mitzvahs, charity galas and other special events. Taking Care of Business Each of the other meeting rooms are named for Colorado trees. The Aspen, Alpine, Maple, Ash and Elm are breakout rooms that can seat from 45 to 100 people. The Alpine and Maple each feature several windows, ensuring a bright, well- appointed space that is ideal for creatively attending to business. A separate executive boardroom is richly appointed with wood floors and wood-paneled walls. On the third floor, a boardroom by the business centre provides a more private set- ting for business meetings. High-speed wireless Internet access is available throughout the meeting space. Oasis in the City One level up from the main meeting space is the third-floor rooftop terrace, complete with pool, whirlpool, and outdoor patio seating. The lushly landscaped outdoor terrace is truly an oasis in the city. The patio can be reserved for intimate cock- tail receptions, small wedding groups, VIP functions and more. Designed to feature more than 60 trees, including a variety of aspen, juniper and pear trees, the terrace will also include beautiful stone planters filled with seasonal flowers. Colorado buff sandstone will edge the pool and the steps, providing a dash of color amidst the foliage. The outdoor terrace will be a posh setting for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before heading inside for dinner in the ballroom. 14 Black Meetings & Tourism July/August 2010: www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com
