Those numbers speak not only of product and produce, but also of a larger picture. Despite a hurting economy, attendance at Tales was higher in 2010. Speaking with several bartenders over the fi ve-day festival, there seemed to be many arriving from tertiary markets. The cocktail craze is effectively sweeping the country, far beyond cities like New York and San Francisco, to new enclaves such as Houston and St. Louis. We sat down with two excited bartenders to discuss fresh trends, new spirits and ideas they are taking back home from New Orleans.
