An experience, memory, smell, taste, or from someone you may know. Everyone’s creativity is born a little differently. No matter how it comes, so long as it comes. Maybe it flows naturally for some, while for others it may even feel forced. It may happen like a flash of light or simply be a riff on a someone else’s genius. It doesn’t really matter, so long as the juices are flowing, both literally and figuratively. In the world of cocktail creation, it seems to always start with the base spirit. Someone says, “Invent a drink with rum.” But because today the profession of bartender has evolved into a creative role rather than just a service job, we have seen the inception of a new era for cocktails.
