XenData releases new LTO archive solutions W ALNUT CREEK, CA — XenData (www.xendata.com), a provider of LTO archive solutions, has released its new SXL range. They are based on the company's SX-10 archive appliance and LTO-6 drives or robotic LTO-6 libraries and connect to a 1GigE network, making writing to and restoring from LTO as easy as writing to network attached disk storage. There are five SXL models and all manage an unlimited number of externalized LTO cartridges. The SXL-1 ($10,950) includes a XenData SX-10 appliance and one IBM external LTO-6 drive. The SXL systems write to either 2.5TB LTO-6 cartridges or 1.5TB LTO-5 cartridges using either the LTFS exchange format or the open standard TAR format.
