Models Daz 3D Girl 4 Daz 3D expands its 3D content library with Girl 4. This latest version of the company's 3D figure offers customizable body shap- ing, increased texture map resolution, and improved joint rigging. Girl 4, created from Daz 3D's fourth-generation Unimesh, is compatible with all Victoria 4, Victo- ria 4 Elite, and Aiko 4 head and body shapes, textures, a n d p o s e s t o e n a b l e g r e a t e r creative possi- bilities. Ready to animate in Daz Studio, Carrara, and Poser, Girl 4 boasts a variety of body and head shapes. The Girl 4 base product is now available for download from the Daz 3D online store for $30. Daz 3D; www.daz3d.com Plug-in Ozone Open Beta E-on software has announced the avail- ability of a free Open Beta of its upcom- ing Ozone 4.0 atmospheric plug-in for Maxon's Cinema4D, NewTek's LightWave, and Autodesk's 3ds Max, Maya, and Soft- image XSI. Version 4.0 employs E-on software's Spectral 2 engine, capable of producing realistic environments with volumetric clouds, accurate light disper- sion, and other natural phenomena. For the simulation and rendering of atmospheric effects, Ozone 4.0 features Spectral 2 and Volumetric atmosphere models, optimized volumetric cloud layers for real-world 3D clouds or low-lying fog, faster rendering speeds, animated clouds and sunsets, and a library of more than 150 predefined atmospheres. Available in English for Windows XP and Vista (32- and 64-bit versions) and Mac OS X 10.4 (Universal Binary), the Ozone 4.0 Open Beta is a free, fully functional version of Ozone 4.0 that will expire after the beta period. Using proprietary matte extraction techniques, zMatte retains fine hair, smoke, and reflection details in the production of mattes, enables multiple matte creation, and offers automatic spill suppression, sophisticated matte and edge manipula- tion, and color correction. Version 3.0 adds four new plug-ins: Color Suppress for removing blue or green spill light, Frame Averager for smoothing film grain and video noise, Matte Wrap for retaining matte-edge definition and creating trans- parency blends from the matte edges, and Screen Smoother to smooth unevenly lit blue and green screens. zMatte is now available for download or purchase at the cost of $395 for use with Avid systems, Adobe After Effects, and Apple Final Cut Pro, and $195 for use with Adobe Photo- shop. Digital Film Tools; www.digitalfilmtools.com AnAlysis Free and Next-Gen AMD has debuted GPU PerfStudio 2.0, the latest version of the company's next- generation, platform-agnostic graphics application development tool for game developers. GPU PerfStudio 2.0, which is able to integrate with existing projects, helps users identify and then resolve algorithm and performance issues early in the development cycle. Version 2.0 features a newly written GPU Perfor- mance Analysis tool, as well as Frame Debugger, Shader Debugger, and Frame Profiler. The new tools are accessi- ble to users without any modifications to existing code. GPU PerfStudio 2.0 supports DirectX 10.1, for the produc- tion of advanced gaming titles, as well as offers native support for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.
