Past LMGI President and this year's Awards Chair Nancy
Haecker took to the stage to thank the army of volunteers who
are the foundation of the LMGI, noting that "the true nature
of an organization is found in the people who willingly give of
themselves to build it."
Host, comedian and beloved retired LA weatherman Fritz
Coleman presided over the proceedings, assisted by a
celebrity lineup of award presenters that included actor and
powerful advocate for the rights of neurodivergent artists,
Tal Anderson (The Pitt), actor Scott Porter (Friday Night
Lights, Ginny & Georgia), actor and stand-up comic Bresha
Webb (out with a new special on Netflix) and the co-creator,
co-showrunner and co-star of Hacks, Paul W. Downs, who
bounded onto the stage in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.
"My agent told me this was taking place in Santa Monica…on the
beach!" he quipped, adding that the Broad Stage was "a better
location for it. You guys did a great job, as usual!"
