Prelude to the Awards
What better way to kick off awards weekend than at a poolside Happy Hour at the historic
Eden Hotel in Santa Monica! LMGI's 'Hotel Sponsor' hosted nearly 70 partygoers, including
local members and award nominees who had arrived the day before the event from points
near and far.
With this year's awards show gala taking place at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, Film
Santa Monica enthusiastically came on board to support the party by sponsoring the
"Santa Monica Spritz," alongside Scope Locations' specialty concoction "Deep End
Frozè" and Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission's "Humboldt 75."
"We wanted to provide an easy, casual place for people to land,
gather and begin making connections before the excitement of the
awards takes over. We can welcome each nominee personally, add
an awards nominee button to their lapel and introduce them to
members who may already know their work through our 'Meet the
Finalists' panels. Watching those relationships develop is exactly
why this event remains so special. Our nominees will walk into the
awards on Saturday evening already knowing a few more friendly faces!"
