6 I D G A M O N T H L Y On October 8, DGA members who work and reside in the region attended a DGA membership meeting and dinner in the Boston, MA. The event was an opportunity to network with their peers, meet DGA staff, and hear what the Guild is doing on their behalf. Joined by the DGA's Director of Local Stations Lila Foldes and Business Representative Michael Mintz, DGA Executive Director Mary Hatch shared remarks on behalf of the Guild. Acknowledging the many challenges faced by members in the Boston area and beyond, Hatch reported on some of the Guild's recent work to protect DGA jobs and support a strong, competitive domestic production industry, and on recent actions taken by the DGA-Producer Health Plan to preserve the Plan for members now and in the future. Attendees were also encouraged to join the Guild's efforts to support the federal film and television tax incentive legislation and provided resources to easily make their voices heard with their congressional representatives. Members were then invited to ask questions, and to share their own experiences, challenges, and suggestions for how the Guild can best support members in the area. Photos: 1.
