DGA PAC Events Roundup On September 10, the DGA PAC Leadership Council held a meeting with U.S. Representative Becca Balint (D-VT) at the Guild's office in New York. The conversation was moderated by DGA National Board Member, Director Glenn Weiss. Representative Balint was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in the fall of 2022 to represent the state of Vermont's single, at-large district. She currently sits on the House Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction over issues such as AI regulation, antitrust enforcement, copyright, and piracy, and on the House Budget Committee. Congresswoman Balint is a leading voice in Washington for organized labor and has repeatedly used her seat on the Judiciary Committee to stand on the side of workers. She has also championed antitrust issues and worked to combat increasing consolidation across all sectors of the economy, including in the entertainment industry. Her ongoing work and efforts to assemble bipartisan coalitions on antitrust matters and combatting corporate consolidation makes her a key voice in the current Congress. Before joining Congress, Representative Balint served in the Vermont State Senate, rising to the rank of Majority Leader and President Pro Tempore. Before being elected to office, Balint was a middle school teacher in Windham County, Vermont. This was Representative Balint's first Leadership Council meeting and the 126th such meeting hosted by the DGA PAC.
