LMGI COMPASS | Summer 2026 • 41 WASHINGTON FILMWORKS - TRAIN DREAMS Washington Filmworks blazed trails for Train Dreams, a sweeping story chronicling the personal tragedies of a logger in the early 20th-century American West. The state's financial incentive program convinced production to film entirely within the "Evergreen State," where Washington's diverse landscapes could authentically portray a rapidly changing frontier across multiple decades. Washington NEW JERSEY MOTION PICTURE & TELEVISION COMMISSION - SPRINGSTEEN: DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE The ambitious project relied on more than 35 locations throughout New Jersey to capture the places that shaped Bruce Springsteen's life, music and creative identity. Despite major infrastructure projects and ongoing construction in Asbury Park and Bayonne, the Commission worked closely with municipalities and the production team to secure access to epic spaces such as the Meadowlands Arena, the Stone Pony, the Asbury Park Boardwalk and Carousel House, and a Mountain Lakes residence recreated as the home where Springsteen recorded the album that came to embody New Jersey's working-class spirit. The Commission's support helped anchor the film's narrative in the communities and landscapes that inspired one of America's most iconic artists. Filmworks provided guidance on period-accurate locations while helping identify cast, crew and production services that made an ambitious independent film possible. The organization helped secure key filming locations, including Metaline Falls, Tekoa and the Northwest Railway Museum, each contributing an authentic sense of place essential to the story's historical setting. Working closely with rural liaisons, tribal communities and local partners across six counties, it coordinated local resources, identified film-friendly historic environments, located old- growth forests for several defining sequences and found the fire lookout that anchors the film's climactic final scene. The film's compelling visual story has earned it 167 award nominations, including several from the Motion Picture Academy. Made for what happens OFF CAMERA.
