LMGI COMPASS | Summer 2026 • 31 Stranger Things Young Sherlock HOUSE OF GUINNESS Cities and regions across the UK stand in for 1860's Dublin and New York as power, poverty and the turbulent soul of Ireland collide in this sweeping period drama about the public and private lives of one of the wealthiest families in the British Empire. Liverpool's Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse—the largest brick warehouse in the world—plays for the brewery, establishing the scale of the Guinness family's commercial empire, while Penrhyn Castle in North Wales replicates the near-royal splendor of Ashford Castle, the Guinness family home. In the abandoned farm dwellings of CloonBoo Village, built from the same stone as Ireland's famine villages, the stark schism between the Protestant ruling class and destitute Catholic Ireland is laid bare. Preserved Industrial Revolution era streetscapes in Liverpool and Manchester provide a visceral and authentic stage for the season's political flashpoints: riots, burning buildings and festering unrest. STRANGER THINGS Season 5 From the Rightside Up to the dark Upside Down, the final season dramatically transforms 1980's Hawkins, Indiana— played by Jackson, Georgia—into a militarized quarantine zone. Atlanta-area locations echo the magic of the past seasons while new ones build toward a final reckoning in a desolate quarry. The Squawk, a radio station hidden on a former hayfield, remains a lifeline to the outside world, while a chase across a field of crops and an entire neighborhood—with a retrofitted BMW crashing through backyard after backyard in pursuit of an interdimensional demon—push the story to a crescendo. Georgia and New Mexico—including the haunting Dar al Islam educational center outside of Albuquerque—hold the season's deeper themes of loss and childhood's inevitable passing, delivering the world of Hawkins to a breathtakingly heartfelt finale. YOUNG SHERLOCK An undisciplined 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes is reluctantly drawn into his very first mystery as a student at Oxford University when a murder is committed in plain sight at the hauntingly beautiful Abdon Abbey. The mystery deepens on the grounds of Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club, playing a brooding Gothic sanatorium, while Bristol's Broad Street and Oxford's Merton Street are stripped of every trace of the modern world and reborn as bustling Victorian districts. The grand markets and imperial palace of Constantinople come to life within Spain's Alcázar of Seville—a breathtaking royal palace constructed as a 10th-century Moorish fortress. Paris and Constantinople are found in the historical cities of Andalusia, while the rugged moorlands and mountains of Wales' Brecon Beacons host a remote yurt village on the plains of China. The tapestry of real-world locations inspires a globe-trotting adventure in the company of a legend just beginning to find himself. House of Guinness
