process," shares Brodie. "Over all these years, he has stepped into
his power and has continued to grow as a manager. Chris is able to
take Sterlin's blueprint of humor and gritty realism, and together
with our network of connections and an incredible location team
to bring the vision and authenticity to the screen."
The success of The Lowdown reveals Tulsa's creative possibilities
as the city steadily develops its reputation within the film
and television industry. Aided by state incentives, growing
infrastructure and creative teams committed to regional
storytelling Oklahoma is now able to support ambitious prestige
television.
Kucharski's bone-deep understanding of this terrain has helped
foster one of the industry's most trusted and enduring location
teams. "I learned a long time ago from the great location managers
who taught me that I am only as good as my team. Not by accident,
I have worked as an LM with largely the same group. We are all
working together because we enjoy each other and the projects
that Sterlin has brought to Oklahoma. We collaborate and make
each other better. Simply put, my team makes me look good! I do
my best to communicate effectively and organize the effort—after
that I stay out of the way and help out when they tell me to. My
mentors did exactly this for me. If I can give this team the same
opportunities that I was given, they have no ceiling."
Over the course of a career filled with standout projects, Kucharski
has built an ethos that renders authenticity over artifice and
collective knowledge over convention. That philosophy continues
to shape the visual identity of The Lowdown, a real Tulsa tale that
doesn't need to inhabit a world built from scratch but simply
exists within one already in motion—and listens closely enough
to let it speak.
