Some choose the classic cable car or funicular, which slowly rise above the Andean Forest. Others, more determined, embark on the pilgrimage trail, a path steeped in history and tradition. FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOOD: CHAPINERO. Chapinero is an endless map of experiences. Here, some of the city's most interesting culinary offerings coexist with bars, terraces and dance clubs where Bogotá's nightlife finds its best stage. Galleries, bookstores, theaters and urban expressions appear without being sought. Chapinero has something special: It's a miniature universe where Bogotá reveals its most diverse, free and authentic side. A place where something always seems to be happening. FAVORITE LOCAL ARTIST: LA 33 In a city famous for its cold climate, this orchestra has achieved something extraordinary: making the capital sound like salsa … and feel like the Caribbean. Listening to them live is an experience that transforms the atmosphere. The trumpets and trombones burst forth with force, the percussion establishes a pulse impossible to ignore, and suddenly, the Bogotá chill seems to vanish. The audience—locals, travelers, curious onlookers—inevitably ends up in the same place: an impromptu dance floor where no one wants to stay still. BEST BAR/CLUB: THEATRON It's a complete nightlife universe where every door opens onto a different experience. Entering Theatron is like stepping into a city within a city. Thirteen different areas, each with its own music, rhythm and atmosphere. Salsa, electronic, pop, reggaeton, classics to sing at the top of your lungs … here, every visitor finds their perfect dance floor. But what truly makes this place legendary is its scale: More than 7,000 people can celebrate under one roof, making it one of the largest clubs in Latin America. The energy is contagious and vibrant, a perfect reflection of Bogotá's open and cosmopolitan spirit. BEST PLACE TO HEAR MUSIC: GALERÍA CAFÉ LIBRO AND QUIEBRACANTO In the north of the city, next to Parque de la 93, Galería Café Libro is the perfect place to start the evening calmly. It's that corner where conversation flows among friends, drinks are raised slowly, and live music gradually ignites the atmosphere, like preparing the spirit before the party begins. But if the plan is to immerse yourself in the bohemian heart of the city, then you have to go to Quiebracanto, in the historic center. Their music, every night has something of a ritual about it. The live music, the proximity to the artists and the intimate atmosphere create an experience that is hard to find anywhere else. BEST VANTAGE POINT/SCENIC VIEW: I can't just talk about one, I need to include three. 1. The first is Monserrate, the city's guardian hill. At more than 3,000 meters above sea level, the view is simply monumental. From there, Bogotá unfolds like an urban ocean stretching as far as the eye can see, embraced by the savanna and guarded by the mountains. It's a necessary ritual for those who want to understand the profound relationship between the city and its geography. 2. Colpatria Tower, right in the heart of the capital; in the very center of the city, the observation deck affords a 360-degree view of Bogotá. By day, you can see the contrast between the historic center, the traditional neighborhoods and the modern areas; by night, the landscape transforms into a tapestry of lights that reveal the vibrant magnitude of the metropolis. 3. La Calera. The road that climbs from Bogotá offers one of the most cinematic perspectives of the city. As you climb the mountain, Bogotá gradually appears, as if revealing itself before your eyes, until it becomes an immense urban constellation as night falls. Antioquia caves Diego Diosa/LMGI
