For Members SAG-AFTRA Launches I Am an Actor Podcast Actors share their personal and professional journeys in intimate interviews. S AG-AFTRA's new I Am an Actor podcast evolves the Actor Awards' iconic opening into the audio space, creating intimate, relaxed conversations with some of the most influential performers of our time. Funny, revealing and irreverent, I Am an Actor takes a more casual approach to unveiling the person behind the performance. Hosted by Actor Awards Executive Producer & Showrunner Jon Brockett and Actor Award nominee Jamie Chung (Dexter: New Blood, Lovecraft Country), each weekly episode features a 40- to 60-minute interview in which a guest explores their career, approach to the craft and how they got to where they are today. The conversations between Brockett, Chung and guests prove "I am an actor" is only the tip of the iceberg, bringing audiences a look into the actor's breakout moments, roles and milestones in their own words. Launched on May 7, guests for the show's first season include previous Actor Award nominees and recipients Quinta Brunson, Colman Domingo, Kate Hudson, Mariska Hargitay, Chase Infiniti and Kerry Washington, among others. "I've spent 20 years in a room full of actors, and this is my chance to finally get them to talk to me," said Brockett. Added Chung, "I've admired so many of these performers for years. Getting to sit down with them to dive deeper into the craft, the moment they fell in love with it and what keeps them going is the part of this job I could do forever." The podcast is produced by SAG-AFTRA in partnership with female-led, Los Angeles-based SickBird Productions. Executive producers for the show include Brockett, Jade Watson and Diona DaCosta, with producer Sarah Stoecker, talent producer Sarah Cowperthwaite, and Head of PR & Marketing Nic Vivas, who also serves as a producer on the show.
