Pride Is Community Power
P
ride 2026 was a time for members of the LGBTQ+ community and
allies to celebrate visibility, equality and solidarity — with SAG-AFTRA
members answering the call.
This year saw a mix of extravaganzas and other social gatherings such
as the Washington-Mid Atlantic Local member mixer at the annual
Nationals' Night Out ballgame on June 24. Members proudly joined their
union siblings and carried the SAG-AFTRA banner at Pride celebrations
held throughout the month — which included special guests like Brian
Michael Smith (9-1-1: Lone Star) at LA Pride on June 14 with National
LGBTQ Committee Co-Chair Jason Stuart, below right, and National
Board member, Actor Award- and Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose at
NYC Pride on June 28, right. The San Francisco-Northern California,
New Mexico and Colorado Locals achieved major milestones as
first-time participants in their cities' Pride parades.
Other events spotlighted SAG-AFTRA recording artists. The Pussycat
Dolls' Kimberly Wyatt, Nicole Scherzinger and Ashley Roberts, below,
headlined West Hollywood's 2026 OUTLOUD Music Festival, and
Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and actor Maren Morris,
opposite page, took center stage at the 2026 Capital Pride
Concert in Washington, D.C.
It is these and other events beyond the month of June that
show SAG-AFTRA and its
members' support for the
LGBTQ+ community extends
well beyond Pride month
and showcase the union's
enduring commitment
to equality, inclusion
and solidarity through
advocacy, celebration and
community engagement. ●
