42 • THE ARTISAN FALL 2026 more "feature" quality appearance in the look, with translucent skin and Brazilian favela-inspired make-up/hair designs. It can be seen in the make-up by way of; tattoos (custom made by talented Local 706 member Kentaro Yano, a longtime collaborator), Out-of-Kit casualty, transfer appliances, blood, gritty dirt, dust, sweat and tears to create the very hot, humid, and sultry look of Brazil despite most of the series being made in Mexico City. We had a three-week sequence of block shooting in Brazil where we had an extraordinary amount of facial hair and wig doubling with limited access to shopping supplies. Planning ahead to prepare for the inevitable, especially on location, was pivotal to our success. I handled the day-to-day make-up for Yahya, playing "Creasy" and our young leading lady Billie Boullet who played "Poe." I also applied out-of-kit "beat up" looks to other cast members, including Elzio Vieira who plays "Tiago," a character who suffers an intense beating from Creasy. I was responsible for designing looks for our Brazilian actor Ismael Caneppele playing "Osmar" and our group of actors portraying characters from the infamous "favelas" of Rio. Every actor was complete with a unique hair style, inspired by our research into the vibrant trends of Rio. I worked very closely with the costume designer Amanda Cárcamo, Bottom left: Elzio Vieira as Tiago.
