Everything needed to feel present, lived-in, and visceral. at meant moving away from anything overtly glamorous and focusing instead on texture, tone, and the quiet complexity of real skin. e series carries a steady build of emotional tension, and it was important that the make-up moved in step with that rhythm. We had a large cast and no make-up personals, so I was setting the skin & make-up looks for most of the cast. Being able to do this was a dream; my favorite part of make-up is doing the skin. I'll start with Ashley & Austin since we started filming with them first. Both characters are designed to look youthful, active, whimsical, and sun-kissed. Our process began the same way every day—with skin preparation.
