Established in 2007, the Fellowship and Service Award is a distinguished recogni- tion, given for a career that exemplifies the values most cherished by the Guild: Pro- fessionalism, Collaboration, Mentorship, Generosity of Spirit, and a Deep Commit- ment to the Labor Movement. Elias joined the Guild in 1968 and has played a leadership role for more than 50 years, including service as a board member and Sergeant-at-Arms. He also worked on the Election Committee and on the Guild's Constitution and By-laws. He remains one of the most recognizable faces at Guild events to this day. He started the Guild's annual Retirees Luncheon in 1981 and has overseen the Los Angeles event ever since. As an editor, he worked for decades at Paramount Pictures in the department that re-edited feature films licensed to the airlines and television networks. In 2025, the IATSE honored Elias with its President's Award for his 52 years as a convention delegate. "Bill Elias personifies all the qualities we look for in a recipient of the Fellowship and Service Award," said Guild president F. Hudson Miller. "Having served on the Guild's board of directors for over 50 years, Bill's selfless dedication to IATSE Local 700 can only be equaled by the gratitude of the Guild and its members. Well done, Bill! We look forward to celebrating your service to your sisters, brothers, and kin." "Labor is my passion, and I'm grateful to my peers for this wonderful honor," Elias said. Past recipients of the Fellowship and Service Award include Donn Cambern, Dede Allen, Thomas C. Short, Carol Littleton, Don Hall, Don Mitchell, Joseph Aredas, Lillian Benson, Lee Dichter, Martin Cohen, and Bobbi Banks. ■ VETERAN EDITOR BILL ELIAS TO RECEIVE TOP GUILD HONOR FELLOWSHIP AND SERVICE AWARD FOR LONGTIME BOARD MEMBER Bill Elias.
