they were asked to perform far beyond their titles and met each challenge with enthusiasm and professionalism. Of course, those names represent only a fraction of the people responsible for bringing the season to life. Every designer, coordinator, graphic artist, scenic painter, engineer, fabricator and construction crew member contributed to the final result. Projects at this scale simply don't happen any other way. When a Set Becomes a Place More than any other day on this project, anxiety coursed through us on move-in day. I was desperate to see if our vision had come to fruition. After months of sketches, revisions, deadlines, weather delays, design meetings, production meetings and construction challenges, contestants finally walked through the gates. For the first time, the City stopped being a design problem. It stopped being drawings and schedules. It stopped being conversations about what it could become. Instead, it became a key character in the second season of Beast Games, with a life and personality of its own. Contestants immediately began exploring it, gathering in it, and breathing the life into it that a space can only have when inhabited by a community. It's the breathless moment every designer hopes for—a sigh of relief. The point where the environment begins to function exactly as intended, not because people admire it, but because they start living inside it. Three months earlier, it was just an idea. Now it was a city. Even after everything Isabella, Jason, Anya, Michael, Nathan and the rest of the team accomplished together, that transformation remains the most remarkable part of the experience. We were tasked with something nearly impossible. Of those ninety days between our first conversation and the move- in day, most of them included moments of doubt. Oftentimes failure seemed likely, if not inevitable. Too many people to name deserve thanks for continuing to advance despite those odds, and in the end, it was through our collective effort that we delivered on the promise of a utopian futuristic paradise as the home base for Beast Games 2.
