The event is one of the Guild's most popular offerings and former DGA Special Projects Committee Chair Jeremy Kagan has served as the moderator moderated since its inception. Realizing the wealth of information about the film process disseminated in these in-depth conversations with some of the finest filmmakers of our era, in 2006 Kagan created the first compilation of material from these panel discussions and Directors Close Up was born. Now this incredible collection of discussions is available online as a digital download. In Directors Close Up, Third Edition, Kagan has culled the most insightful and entertaining responses from sessions conducted between 2013 and 2020 and features discussions with: Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel) • Ben Affleck (Argo) • Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) • Damien Chazelle (La La Land) • Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born) • Alfonso Cuarón (Roma) • Garth Davis (Lion) • Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water) • Clint Eastwood (American Sniper) • Peter Farrelly (Green Book) • Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) • Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips) • Bong Joon Ho (Parasite) • Tom Hooper (Les Miserables) • Alejandro G.
