CHILD'S PLAY: Michael Ritchie (right) directs Tatum O'Neal in the family sports comedy, The Bad News Bears. In his DGA Visual History interview Ritchie recalled the diffi cult negotiations to land both O'Neal and Walter Matthau and said, "There is a god that rules over all casting that says, 'Sooner or later you'll get the right person for the right role.' And that's what happened." TEENAGE ANGST: Brian De Palma (right) directs Sissy Spacek in the supernatural horror, Carrie.
