He's as mad as hell and not going to take this anymore! The Eastern Region Special Projects
Committee invites you to a special 50th Anniversary screening of Sidney Lumet's DGA Award-
Nominated feature, Network.
In Sidney Lumet's prophetic satire, a veteran news anchorman discovers he's being put out
to pasture and after first threatening to shoot himself on live television, instead launches into
an angry televised rant that becomes a huge ratings boost for the network. The stunt inspires
an ambitious producer to develop even more outrageous programming, a concept she takes
to unsettling extremes.
In addition to its DGA Award nomination, Lumet's Network also garnered nine Academy
Award nominations. In 2000, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film
Registry by the Library of Congress.
Starring: Faye Dunaway, William Holden, Peter Finch and Robert Duvall
Running Time: 121 minutes • Print Courtesy of Park Circus
The screening will include a short introduction to the film

Give Me the Ball!
Directed by Liz Garbus & Elizabeth Wolff
— A DGA Special Projects Committee Documentary Series Screening
The story of women's sports could not be told without legendary tennis icon Billie Jean King,
who transformed both sports and society. She prioritized changing the world over self-
preservation and in fighting for equity for herself and others, was uncompromising to the point
of subordinating her personal well-being by hiding her sexual orientation and eating disorders.
Through rare archival material and candid interviews with King and her inner circle, Directors
Liz Garbus and Elizabeth Wolff's (I'll Be Gone in the Dark) new documentary, Give Me the
Ball!, presents King in her own words and traces her groundbreaking impact on sports and
culture with a particular focus on 1973 — a pivotal year when she was at the apex of both her
tennis career and the women's movement.
Give Me the Ball! had its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
Running Time: 102 minutes
