Karol Urban CAS MPSE finished the theatrical sci-fi thriller Truebadour and the feature documentary An Auschwitz Album Story for PBS, as well as mixed finales for Reasonable Doubt for Hulu and Bel-Air for Peacock. From Chip Sovek CAS MPSE: "An independent film event I had been excited to attend was the premiere of Saturnalia at the Dances With Films/NY Festival. It's rare for post mixers to attend events but this opportunity fit into my schedule perfectly … and who doesn't love NYC! It was a pleasure to celebrate the film, alongside director Daniel Lerch and producers Max Fischer and Vivian Owen. "Saturnalia is a high-concept homage to the cerebral and stylish world of 1970's Italian giallo and supernatural horror, elevated by a score from legendary Italian composer Claudio Simonetti—best known for his iconic work with Goblin on Dario Argento's classic films. Spinn Creative was tasked with the sound design and mix resulting in one of the most fun projects of recent times." (See "The Lighter Side" for photo.) Dave Griffiths CAS is currently mixing Watson Season 2 for CBS. George A. Flores CAS has been continuing on S23 of CBS television's NCIS. Joined by boom operator Dean Thomas, sound utility Erin Fitzgerald, and the post sound team of re-recording mixers Alec St. John, Marshall Garlington CAS, and supervising sound editor Mason Kopeikin. "I do want to acknowledge those that have helped out on set this season: Dave Yaffe CAS, Jamie Gambell CAS, Ben Patric CAS, utilities Janna Lopez, Alexandra Gallo, Kelsey Zeigler, Daniel Quintana, Jennifer Zhang, and the late Frank Zaragoza who passed away in October. Thanks to Sean O'Malley CAS, I had the pleasure of mixing a good chunk of Beef Season 2 for Netflix last spring. Then, after a summer Finnish vacation/Genelec tour (see the article in the Winter 2026 Quarterly), I spent the remainder of the year day-playing on projects like Sugar for Apple (thanks Sean Byrnes CAS), Free Burt for Netflix (thanks Rod Gurulé), mo-cap unit on Street Fighter (thanks Lee Orloff CAS), and a proof of concept for Fuzzy Door (thanks Steven Morrow CAS). Now, to start the year; my team of Chris "Catfish" Walmer, Maribeth Powers, and Rocio Camacho are up at Universal Studios working on Dig for Peacock (thanks John Cook CAS)!!!! During the COVID shutdown, Sean Blanche CAS went back to school and recently completed an MD, merging his background in cinema sound with the science of hearing. He is currently pursuing residency training in otology, focusing on the mechanisms of sound perception and balance—where medicine and audio intersect. (See "The Lighter Side" for photo.)
