2 S P R I N G 2 0 2 6 I C A S Q U A R T E R L Y The Spring issue of CAS Quarterly is traditionally where our Career Achievement Award recipient is interviewed, and I am personally very happy that the CAS Board chose Skip Lievsay CAS as the honoree. Skip and I have been doing sound on the same films for 44 years and share multiple CAS nominations and wins. His career goes much further than those movies and it will be a pleasure to honor him at the CAS Awards on March 7. As many of you know, friend and CAS Career Achievement Award recipient Jeff Wexler CAS passed away in December. Something Jeff was involved with prior to his passing was the creation of a new technical advancement award. Former CAS president Ed Moskowitz and Steve Venezia CAS put together the award expeditiously and Steve was able to get Jeff's enthusiastic support on the idea of the award and its inaugural recipients. Jeff did not know it would be named after him (and may have objected), but his family is appreciative. It is very fitting to name it in honor of Jeff who, in addition to being a major trailblazer in the industry, devoted a tremendous amount of time and energy to the CAS. We will present the inaugural "Jeffrey S. Wexler Award for Advancement in Sound Technology" at this year's CAS Awards. We had a great turnout for our annual Holiday Mixer and General Membership meeting in December. One of the great pleasures of holding this position is being able to meet and mingle with CAS members. See coverage of this and other events, along with very informative articles, in this issue. Congratulations to all members who have been recognized with Academy Award, BAFTA, CAS Award, and Golden Reel nominations. We are proud to celebrate the vital contributions of sound professionals to the collaborative art of film and television programming. Finally, I look forward to celebrating Skip Lievsay, our CAS Filmmaker Award recipient Guillermo del Torro, and all the CAS Award nominees in Los Angeles on March 7th at the 62nd Annual CAS Awards.
