Lockhart, who was best known for her roles on Lassie and Lost in Space, received the award on Oct. 15, 2018, for her service to SAG-AFTRA members. SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin said, "June Lockhart was audiences' favorite space mom and made an indelible mark on classic television. Her warmth and compassion live on in the work she did. My deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and a century of fans." Lockhart joined AFRA, which would later become AFTRA, in 1938 and Screen Actors Guild in 1940. In 1949, Lockhart and then-SAG President Ronald Reagan accepted a plaque from the Air Force honoring 32 professional entertainers who died while on tours of service in or out of battle areas in World War II, and in 1983, she supported both SAG and AFTRA's Women's Committees in their work to bring attention to the Equal Rights Amendment. She has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for motion pictures and one for television. CBS/PHOTOFEST
