12 M PS E . O R G I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable fall. The MPSE Office has been working incredibly hard to bring a slew of exciting and informative events to our members around the world. And we've got lots more in store in 2026! Here is what we've been up to… Back to the Future/Vaughan Film Festival ‒ Toronto The MPSE was proud to partner with the Vaughan International Film Festival in Toronto last June to launch their event with our screening of Back to the Future, followed by a Q&A with the film's sound editor, Scott Hecker MPSE. FROM THE MPSE OFFICE Hello, wonderful MPSE members! Scott regaled the audience with behind-the-scenes stories of the epic undertaking they faced in getting this film through post-production at break- neck speed. You would never know by how phenomenally the sound turned out. We were happy to follow the screening with a fantastic after-party at a local pub where we enjoyed delicious appetizers and a rousing nightlife. Enormous thanks to Scott for making the trip and to Board member Timothy Muirhead for spearheading the event. Creativity + Craft in Post-Production – WB Los Angeles In July, the MPSE once again partnered with our good friends at Warner Bros. Post Production Sound Services to host our Creativity + Craft in Post Production event. The day was filled with engaging and informative panels, and our attendees also got to take a tour of the newly renovated sound department and speak directly with WB's top sound talent. WB pulled out all the stops for us and displayed historic Superman and Batman costumes from over the decades, including the villains! It was a real treat to see this iconic film memorabilia up close. WB always brings the fun! Tonebenders Meet Up in London August found us in London where we were thrilled to partner with the Tonebenders podcast to meet up with our UK members and friends. Our President, David Barber, was in attendance and was touched by how many people traveled in from other countries to attend. As with previous London get-togethers, our guests were spilling out into the streets! It's wonderful to see such an engaged and robust sound community and we will surely be back next year. MPSE Emmy Nominee Party – Los Angeles In September, the MPSE was very proud to host an evening in honor of our members who were nominated for an Emmy this year. We were welcomed by the generous team at Forman's Whiskey Tavern and enjoyed their phenomenal array of libations on their open-air patio. Seeing so many MPSE members come out to celebrate their peers drives home what a truly special group we have in our membership. Congratulations to the Emmy nominees and winners! Game Audio Fest at Riot Games – Los Angeles Also in September was one of our most anticipated and well-attended events to date: Game Audio Fest at the Riot Games campus in Los Angeles. There is not enough that could be said about the absolutely incredible team at Riot Games that helped us put this event together! Special shout-out to Brad Beaumont MPSE and Eric Marks MPSE for being instrumental in seeing this event to fruition. Guests were treated to two panels packed with the best sound artists in the field. The full house was humming as attendees were taken deep into the inner workings of game audio. Between the panels, Riot treated everyone to a fabulous and delicious Hawaiian- themed lunch out in their beautiful and TRACIE M. COSTABILE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 2025 MPSE Annual Picnic.
