70 • THE ARTISAN WINTER 2026 Allyson Carey (1963-2025) MAKE-UP ARTIST With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Allyson Carey, a gifted make-up and character artist whose light, laughter, and love touched countless lives. Allyson passed away in October 2025, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, kindness, and inspiration. A proud member of IATSE Local 706 since October 29, 2008, Allyson's artistry knew no bounds. She brought characters to life with her incredible talent, working on more than 382 episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful, earning six Daytime Emmy nominations and two wins for her outstanding work. Her excellence also extended to primetime, earning two Emmy nominations for Star Trek: Picard, along with a Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Award nomination for The Bold and the Beautiful. Her credits spanned both television and film, including standout work on Straight Outta Compton, Bright Futures, Soldier of God, and many more productions that benefited from her creative vision and skill. Fluent in multiple languages and a licensed barber, Allyson was more than a make-up artist—she was a true innovator. She developed a unique product, Tintalize Foot Concealer, with the support of colleagues from The Bold and the Beautiful. Her entrepreneurial spirit led to her latest venture, Smokey Corn Popcorn, featuring her signature smoke and truffle flavor, which made its debut at the Oscars Gifting Suites. Allyson loved to travel and lived life to the fullest. Her last trip in July took her to Jamaica, where she had a blast reconnecting with a dear friend. She was passionate about fitness and healthy living, loved to work out, and had a deep appreciation for good food. A talented cook, she delighted in sampling cuisines from around the world—always bringing menus home to recreate and perfect the flavors she discovered. From a young age, Allyson had a love for beauty and for making others feel beautiful. Whether through make-up, decorating her surroundings, or simply offering a kind word, she spread light and confidence wherever she went. She adored sunbathing and swimming and was a devoted tennis fan—often watching matches on TV while on the phone with her sister Doris, sharing commentary and laughter in real time. Allyson is survived by her loving sisters, Norma Carey and Doris Carey. She came from a small, close-knit family and cherished those bonds deeply. Beyond her career, Allyson would dive into the books featured by her book club, laughter with friends, and bringing positivity into every space she entered. She worked hard, laughed harder, and radiated love and generosity. Allyson fought courageously until the very end. She was a beloved sister, friend, colleague, and inspiration—an angel on Earth whose spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. If you had the joy of working with her, you know your life was touched by someone truly special. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and strength will last forever.
