L A N I E R Tennessee meets planners at the cross- roads of the South with highways that run true and air access that keeps arrivals on time. Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, and Chattanooga each bring meeting muscle, and the distances between them are workable for pre and post itineraries. Music and heritage shape the brand, yet what matters for events is flow. Convention campuses sit inside walkable districts, hotel supply is rising, and venues cover everything from board retreats to arena shows. State parks and cultural sites add hops for off sites. With freight han- dled and talent pools ready, Tennessee delivers programs that run on schedule. MEMPHIS Memphis runs on music, river com- merce, and a meetings core tighter than most cities its size. Downtown places the convention campus within a short walk of the riverfront, Beale Street, and hotel inventory, so groups move easily from ses- sions to sponsor dinners. Memphis International Airport keeps a steady bank of flights, and the drive to downtown is direct. For large shows, the modernized convention center offers exhibit halls, ball- rooms, and divisible meeting rooms, plus a connected headquarter hotel for pro- tected movement in all weather. Production crews value the rigging capac- ity and upgraded power, and planners note that load in and freight routes are straightforward, which helps hold down overtime. Signature venues add story without adding friction. Groups can stage keynotes in a performing arts hall, move to the riverfront for a welcome concert, or reserve historic music studios for VIP receptions. Museum districts handle evening buyouts with walkable coach staging. Food matters here, and it pays to program it well. Barbecue houses and Black owned restaurants handle group service with practiced speed, while new chefs have raised standards for private dining rooms that fit board expectations. The Renasant Convention Center, Memphis largest meeting venue, can accommodate events of just about any size with its 300,000 square feet of flexi- ble meeting, exhibit and pre-function space, 118,000 sq. ft. column-free exhibit hall, 28,000 sq. ft. ballroom and 46 meet- ing rooms. Neighborhood choice gives planners flexibility on block size and rate. Downtown delivers walkable nights and fast transfers. Midtown adds boutique properties near Overton Park and the arts scene. East Memphis offers larger hotels and easy access to corporate campuses, which suits trainings and sales meetings that do not need a late night district. Across the program, Memphis leans into music heritage while respecting the clock. Live sets fit neatly into welcome nights, and studio tours can be run as rotations so sponsors get face time without dead time between stops. With a compact core, civic partners, and a strong local ven- dor base, Memphis makes it simple to land, meet, and get the work done. NASHVILLE Nashville pairs national reach with a meetings engine tuned for big volumes. Two interstates cross the city, the airport grows flight options year after year throughout the year, and the downtown core keeps venues, hotels, and dining within easy walking range. The conven- tion center delivers the hall sizes and ball- rooms, while nearby headquarter hotels supply additional function space under one contract set. The Music City Center is equipped with 350,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, 90,000 sq. ft. of break-out space, a 57,500 sq. ft. Grand Ballroom and 60 meeting rooms. Program designers can run general ses- sions in the main hall, reserve hotel ball- rooms for breakouts, and finish the evening on nearby music stages that AREA GUIDES Renasant Convention Center T E N N E S S E E • • • STATS • • • HOTEL ROOMS Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis. 227 Central Station by Hilton 123 Arrive Hotel 62 EXHIBITION FACILITIES The Renasant Convention Center Total Meeting Space 300,000 sq. ft.
