12 B M & T ••• November/December 2025 ••• www.blackmeetingsandtourism.com What is NABHOOD The National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers is not merely a member group. It is a working institution where ownership, capital, and leadership are the agenda. In these rooms, hospitality is treated as both civic promise and hard-nosed enter- prise, a place where design, finance, and workforce meet in service of durable value. At NABHOOD, hospitality is defined as an industry engine for gener- ational wealth and a field that must be led by those who understand the guest and the ledger. How long it has been held This was the twenty-ninth staging of the International African American Hotel Ownership and Investment Summit and Trade Show. Two genera- tions of convenings have refined the summit into something rare in American business life. This gathering has matured into a dependable mar- ketplace where education translates into bankable partnerships and credi- ble projects. Where and when in 2025 The summit convened Wednesday through Friday, July 23 to July 25, at Hyatt Regency Miami. Sessions, suites, and hallway meetings remained under one roof in the central business district. A companion pro- gram on multicultural and heritage travel followed on July 25 and July 26 at the same venue, keeping decision-makers within arm's reach through the weekend. Host Produced by NABHOOD under founder and president Andy Ingraham, the week kept its aim on access to capital, disciplined project delivery, and practical on-ramps to owner- ship and leadership. INSIDE THE SUMMIT ROOMS This was a working summit. Ownership curriculum sat beside financing strategy and develop- ment calendars. Panels moved with boardroom discipline. The trade floor and corporate suites stayed active. A student delegation met owners, purchasing heads, brand approvers, and design principals who could open doors now, not later.
