AND THE AWARD GOES TO… Every nominated title is a reminder that before the cameras roll, someone has imagined how the world we live in can become the world of the story. "There is so much talent in this Guild and within our craft—and tonight's nominees all have set the bar even higher," said LMGI President and Awards Committee Co- Chair John Rakich. "You inspire us all! This event has grown from an intimate gathering of like-minded colleagues to a celebration noted by the industry at large. We are so grateful to our sponsors, our friends and our colleagues. I'm so impressed when I see what we're asked to accomplish and how well we do it!" FOR TELEVISION 1923 S2 grabbed a second win for "OUTSTANDING LOCATIONS IN A PERIOD TELEVISION SERIES" for its wide range of historically accurate locations in both Montana and Texas depicting the struggles of a ranching family during the years of WWI and the Great Depression. "I want to thank everybody," said KALM HAYDEN YANCER/LMGI, accepting onstage with SLM DAVID ZACHARY HEINE/LMGI. "I'm very grateful to be here to represent our wonderful location team. It was a crazy, complex show. Our show creator—basically, he's very script-loyal and each location is a character and so it's fun to bring that to life." Added Heine, "Thanks to the Guild and all the sponsors for putting this on. It's fun to be back, to be in L.A. with all you guys. Taylor Sheridan, keep coming up with, like, crazy, amazing stuff, and we'll keep working!" Dark Winds, Godfather of Harlem, Hotel Portofino S3, One Hundred Years of Solitude and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon S2 were the top contenders in this competitive field. For "OUTSTANDING SERIES IN A CONTEMPORARY TELEVISION SERIES," LM STACEY BRASHEAR/LMGI and scout MARTIN CUMMINS/LMGI accepted the award for their work on THE STUDIO, besting acclaimed nominees The Day of the Jackel, Landman, The Last of Us S2, Mobland and Slow Horses S4. Filmed at iconic locations in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, they helped mine the comedy in the behind-the-scenes world of Hollywood moviemaking. The story of the LMGI is a fabulous two-decade- plus tale of building a global community of location professionals and creative partners who help shape the way we see the world on screen, and that spirit of accomplishment and camaraderie was very much alive at the awards gala—from the spirited awards ceremony to the rockin' after-party! Before a full house, top honors were awarded for Outstanding Locations in Television, Feature Films, Commercials and Film Commissions from a list of nominees that represented locations the world over in an array of stunning and ambitious projects. Also recognized were special honorees whose lifetime of work has had a tremendous impact on our industry and communities. "These are times that cry out for celebration, so let's kick that door open!" said a radiant Rachael Harris (actor, Suits) returning as host for the second year. And with that, the show was on!
