While each child's dream day is a blockbuster, Make-A-Wish's relationship with the film industry is especially magical. Over the years, the Foundation has forged lasting partnerships with major studios like Disney, Warner Bros., Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm, giving kids behind-the-scenes access to the worlds that ignite their imaginations. Addie's wish allowed her to explore the world of voice acting at Pixar Animation Studios, while Seth shared a post- production mixing session with the sound editing team for Marvel's Black Widow, and Bella met a Walt Disney Imagineer to learn how dreams are made—and was inspired to later become a Disney intern herself! Perhaps the most iconic moment came in 2013, when San Francisco transformed into Gotham City for one day to fulfill 5-year- old leukemia survivor Miles Scott's dream of becoming "Batkid." With help from thousands of volunteers, Mayor Ed Lee and President Obama, Batkid saved the day and inspired a heartwarming documentary, reminding the world that storytelling heals. Celebrities also step in to lend their time and star power to delight young fans, going above and beyond to create unforgettable encounters. From Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to Taylor "From giving children the chance to meet their heroes, travel to exotic destinations, or experience once-in-a-lifetime adventures, Make-A-Wish doesn't just fulfill desires—they create cinematic moments that change lives and transform the red carpet into a road to healing." Swift, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Pratt, A-listers regularly fulfill wishes both on and off set. Actor John Cena holds the world record, having granted over 650 wishes. Make-A-Wish is active behind the camera too: They team with industry professionals for fundraising workshops and partner with film institutes to fulfill production-related wishes. As the entertainment industry evolves, they're keeping pace by exploring virtual reality experiences and immersive, hands-on studio tours, expanding their scope for bringing dreams to life in the digital age. Thanks to their work, 7-year-old heart patient Zayden's impossible dream recently came true: blasting off in a rocket to a thrilling virtual Saturn that was designed directly from his imagination. Make-A-Wish is also building collaborations with streaming platforms, content creators, and film franchises that recognize the dual power of content and compassion. After over 45 years of engineering enchantment, Make-A-Wish has achieved its own impossible dream: That in the face of adversity, one simple act of kindness can ignite courage, renew hope, and remind us of the boundless potential of human generosity. For their unwavering dedication to uplifting children and families in their time of need, the LMGI is deeply proud to honor the Make-A-Wish Foundation with its 2025 Humanitarian Award.
