The Halo is a brand-new form of technology that allows for props to be seemingly passed back-and-forth between the twins without the need for split-screen performances. Despite the incredible amount of work that this type of filming must create for an actor, Ware confirmed that Jordan was easy to work with and was very involved in creating the individual props desired for the unique twins. As most Property Masters can attest to, though most moviegoers are unaware of, actors often make requests for personal props that they carry on their person but are almost never seen on camera. These types of requests can vary greatly depending on the actor. Smoke carried a gold lighter which we saw used on screen, but Jordan also requested that Stack carry a silver lighter and two silver half dollars in his pocket. Even though these items weren't written in the script, Ware provided them for Jordan, which is arguably the most important part of being a Property Master: helping actors create characters. As can be expected in a film set in the South during the 1930s, segregation plays a big part. However, the props turned out to be quite subtle. Coogler requested that the art and Property Departments look over Eudora Welty's book, Photographs, to gain a better insight into the times.
