40 • LMGI COMPASS | Summer 2025 Landman LANDMAN Filmed mostly in Fort Worth, we follow a "landman" into the high stake's world of West Texas oil where both roughnecks and billionaires seek their fortune. His role as a bridge between blue collar workers and corporate elites explains his presence in both the oilfields and the boardrooms where he navigates the gritty, hazardous world of oil rigs along Highway 171 and the exclusive spaces of the Petroleum Club in downtown Fort Worth. Scenes filmed at the iconic Ratcliff Stadium in Odessa, at Texas Christian University, in private homes in Benbrook, at local businesses, and in "Man Camps" describe the personal lives of the stakeholders and how industry pressures spill over into everyday life. OUTSTANDING LOCATIONS IN A CONTEMPORARY TELEVISION SERIES Mobland MOBLAND In the shadowy corridors of London's criminal underworld, rival families ignite a brutal war for dominance. From clandestine meetings in the opulent halls of a Notting Hill estate, or a quiet retreat in the Cotswolds, to violent confrontations in the neon- lit nightclubs of Soho and the elegance of an historic hotel, the city's iconic landmarks become battlegrounds in this gripping tale of power, betrayal and survival. East London's notorious Peacock Gym and its surrounding area are soaked in the history of real-life gangsters and criminal activity. The company yard, an industrial site surrounded by hi-rises with scenic views of the O2 Arena, Canary Wharf and the Thames, tells a wider story of how the family must evolve and adapt in a changing city. The historic port of Antwerp provides Old World charm and visually expands the family's reach. The contrast between opulent settings and the gritty urban environments mirrors the dual nature of the gangsters: refined on the surface, ruthless underneath. SLOW HORSES Season 4 When a bomb explodes in a busy London shopping center, a team of discredited agents confined to purgatory in Slough House are once again called upon to save the day. Filmed mainly in London, Slough House exteriors are filmed at the very building on Aldersgate Street that inspired the unglamourous location in the books. The story moves fluidly across London, from the safety of Slough House to the danger of ambushes on Gresham Street, to the tense negotiations and confrontations in luxury hotels like the Langham. After an agent's grandfather is kidnapped, he travels to the fictional town of Lavande in Saint-Clair-sur Epte in northern France where he uncovers long-held family secrets. The season is marked by betrayals, shifting loyalties and the exposure of MI5's darkest operations. Slow Horses
