6 • LMGI COMPASS | Summer 2025 CONTRIBUTORS Albert Chi/LMGI Albert Chi began his career producing music videos with Paul Thomas Anderson and co-produced feature films The Master, Inherent Vice and Gemini. He served as LM on nonunion feature films until joining the Hollywood Teamsters 399 in 2017. Since then, he has served as a KALM on the feature films Fast & Furious 9, Fast X and the TV series The Offer, American Gigolo, Loot and Paradise. He lives in California and enjoys spending time with his family and announcing play by play for local college football and little league baseball games. Michael Glaser/LMGI Michael Glaser is a Los Angeles-based location manager who has worked in film, television and commercials over the past 17 years. Glaser has managed locations for a wide range of productions, from independent films to major studio projects. His work has taken him across the United States and around the world, bringing creative problem-solving and logistical expertise to every production. His credits include Euphoria, One Battle After Another, Horizon: An American Saga and The Terminal List. He is currently serving his first term on the LMGI Board of Directors. Mary Putnam/LMGI Mary Putnam is a location scout and photographer with an extensive knowledge of BC interior filming locations. She has scouted for film, TV and commercial productions and worked in roles as an ALM and local liaison. Her photography portfolio spans tourism, film, municipalities, sports and marketing agencies, capturing everything from aerials and landscapes to lifestyle and events. When she's not working, you'll find her deep in the backcountry with her tent, camera and just enough trail mix to get her to the next view. We welcome contributions to the LMGI Compass. Please send submissions to compass@ locationmanagers.org Your story ideas, articles and photography belong on these pages and on our website. Articles focus on aspects of location management and scouting. Photographs for the "Martini Shot" are exemplary location shots, with an evocative, artistic component that take it up a notch … a hero shot in a VERTICAL orientation. Les Fincher/LMGI Les Fincher is an NYC Local 817 location scout and commercial location manager. As a former LMGI Board member, and with a passion for the history and architecture of New York City, he is eager to promote the LMGI in the New York area. He first came to New York City as a select student at the invitation of Life magazine cover photographer Philippe Halsman. After spending the next six years as an instructor of photography and co-director of the Focus workshops at the New School for Social Research/Parsons School of Design, he transitioned into set still photography and then into scouting for commercials, television and film. He is a co- founder of the Association of Location Scouts and Managers (ALSAM), a group that helped establish work standards and guidelines that led to the formal unionization of the New York location commercial scouts and managers.
