INSTALLATION DINNER GUILD HIRES EASTERN ORGANIZER Local 700's Organizing Department has hired Micah Landau, who will be based out of the Guild's New York off ice and will focus on organizing efforts in the Eastern Region. Micah brings nearly two decades of experience working in the labor movement in and around New York. He most recently served on the staff of Local 700's sister union, the Cinematographers Guild (Local 600), and previously held positions at SAG-AFTRA, SEIU 32BJ and the United Fe d e ra t i o n o f Te a c h e r s. H e j o i n s t h e other team members: Preston Johnson, LA-based Organizer, and Rob Callahan, Director of Organizing. "Organizing is the essential growth ingredient of any labor union," said Alan Heim, ACE, president of the Guild. "We are thrilled to welcome Micah aboard a n d k n ow t h at h e w i l l b e e ss e n t i a l i n winning union contracts for hard-working postproduction professionals in the East- ern Region."
