70 S U M M E R 2 0 2 5 I C A S Q U A R T E R L Y NAB Show Report The 2025 NAB Show was a busy one for me, as I had meetings with broadcast colleagues, and a company I'm involved with presented a white paper at the National Radio Systems Committee session. With renovations in the Central Hall ongoing, most of the field audio exhibitors were in the North Hall, but there were audio-related companies in the South and West Halls as well. Forgive me for not seeing everything, but here are some of the shiny things I noticed. b y G . J o h n G a r r e t t C A S ZAXCOM has a new ZMT-HH handheld with an improved preamp and direct XLR output. Next is their newest couple, the VTX1 VHF ZaxNet audio and timecode transmitter, and the VRX1 IFB receiver. The system is compatible with Comtek equipment, and the receivers do analog and digital VHF, along with ZaxNet audio and timecode—scheduled to begin shipping presently. An upgrade board for the Nova is available to work with the new VHF scheme. There is also a new small receiver, the DciRX, due out this summer, which features stereo audio, timecode, and headphone outputs, along with a phantom-powered mic input and internal mixer. It runs on three AA batteries or USB-C. Lastly, the Deva 48 was hinted at, projected to be available by the end of summer.
