As usual, you'll find great articles about many topics of interest, including a report from the recent NAB Show, insights into the processes for recording Foley, and a series of short stories about things going wrong at work and how some of our members dealt with them, including Career Achievement Award recipient Tod A. Maitland CAS. We recently held our 61st CAS Awards at The Beverly Hilton. Congratulations to the nominees and winners! In this issue, we'll get to learn more about the winners and their projects. Thank you to the hundreds of members and others who attended the show, including sponsors like Dolby, Disney, Universal, MGM, Netflix, and many others. Our Filmmaker Award recipient Denis Villeneuve and Tod Maitland brought their special guests, including Hans Zimmer and Wylie Stateman, and had video appearances from Josh Brolin, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, and James Mangold. You can see videos from the show at our website, along with photos, video clips, and other show content. Navigate: AWARDS > 61ST AWARDS > 61ST ANNUAL AWARDS COVERAGE or https:// cinemaaudiosociety.org/61st-annual-awards-coverage/ Please also look for CAS content on social media. We have accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and other sites showing upcoming events, photos, and clips from our recent and historical award shows. There's also a tremendous amount of historical documentation of previous shows, including photos, videos, program books, and countless other materials. We have a number of events coming up this year. First is our CAS Summer Picnic that's taking place on June 29, 2025. Also, Sounding Board v5.0 will be held on November 2, in collaboration with MPSE. Last year's Sounding Board v4.0 was packed with panels, along with our Parade of Carts and a new vendor area. This year, we expect to expand on all those things, including even more opportunities to socialize with fellow mixers. Additionally, we are planning many other events across the U.S. and elsewhere. Details will be available soon. I hope you enjoy this issue. Remember, you are always welcome to send submissions for articles to the Quarterly. Each time you accumulate four published articles, you'll earn a free year of membership. I look forward to reading about all the activities, technological innovations, and personal experiences of our diverse membership. Peter F.
