M OT I O N P I CTU R E S O U N D E D I TO R S 3 Greetings, MPSE members, and welcome to Wavelength's Spring 2025 quarterly! We're also thrilled to follow up on the 72nd Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards. A heartfelt congratulations to all of the nominees and winners! This year's event was nothing short of magical, held at the stunning Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on February 23. A special shoutout to MPSE Executive Director Tracie Costabile and her incredible team for organizing yet another extraordinary, unforgettable evening! Be sure to check out Tracie's column update for all the event details (pg. 4). You can find a full list of the award winners beginning on page 30. We'd also like to extend a special congratulations to this year's MPSE Filmmaker Award honoree, Kevin Costner, and the recipient of the MPSE Career Achievement Award, Greg Hedgepath! We're proud to feature Greg on the cover of this edition of Wavelength. Earlier this year, Timothy Muirhead MPSE interviewed Greg for his Tonebenders podcast, and Teresa Morrow MPSE edited part of their conversation for print to share with Wavelength readers (pg. 18). In closing, we're excited to celebrate Wavelength's 5th Anniversary with this edition! A big thank you to all our contributors, content creators, readers, and advertisers, as well as those working tirelessly behind the scenes to make Wavelength the exceptional, high-quality publication it is today. We remain dedicated to celebrating the unique craft of sound editing in feature film, broadcast television & streaming, and game audio, and to connecting MPSE members and sound editors around the world. There's much more to discover in this spring edition of Wavelength, and as always, we hope these articles entertain, enlighten, educate, and inspire. Thanks for reading.
