32 PROP CULTURE I SPRING 2025 CITIZEN KANE (1941) In the classic film Citizen Kane, a reporter is assigned to decipher the dying words of newspaper magnate Charles Foster Kane. However, even with the help of Kane's closest friends, the reporter fears he will never be able to understand the mystery surrounding Kane's final word, "Rosebud." Only three sleds were made for Citizen Kane. The first one burnt during a botched take. The second one made the final cut of the movie but was destroyed. The third sled spent many years in Steven Spielberg's private collection before he donated it to the Academy Museum where it currently resides. Property Master: Charles Sayers SCENE STEALERS
