6 P E R S P E C T I V E M A R C H / A P R I L 2 0 2 5 The 29th Annual Art Directors Guild Awards were presented at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday, February 15. Producers Michael Allen Glover and Megan Elizabeth Bell delivered a polished presentation to a full house of designers and collaborators. The show was hosted by actress and comedian Rachael Harris, known for her roles in Goosebumps, Suits, The Hangover and Lucifer. Celebrities on hand to give out the awards included Michael Urie and Jessica Williams (Shrinking), Joe Manganiello (Deal or No Deal Island), Jason Ritter (Matlock), Devon Sawa (Chucky), Skye P. Marshall (Matlock), Garret Dillahunt (High Potential), Peter Facinelli (The Unbreakable Boy), Ron Funches (Inside Out 2), Eve Harlow (Star Trek: Discovery), Vella Lovell (Animal Control), Al Madrigal (Lopez vs. Lopez) and Kurtwood Smith (That '90s Show). AD Council Chair Evan Rohde opened the ceremony with a recognition of the impact of the wildfires on the community, and support for the victims of the recent tragedy was a running theme of the night. ADG President Dina Lipton noted during her opening remarks that the ADG has an all-woman team of Executive Officers, a first in its history. IATSE West Coast VP Mike Miller summoned producers to respond to the recent challenges facing West Coast members by pledging to move more production to Hollywood, an objective also emphasized by National Executive Director Chuck Parker and the Keep California Rolling initiative to support state incentives for film production. The Guild presents design awards in fifteen categories and recognizes the sustained contributions of individual members with the Lifetime Achievement Award, given out by each of the four ADG Councils. Set Designer Barbara Mesney was recognized for her career accomplishments, including Argo, Gone Girl and Anchorman. Production Designer J. Dennis Washington was recognized by the Art Directors Council for his body of work, including The Fugitive, White Men Can't Jump and Prizzi's Honor.
