CINEMA AUDIO SOCIETY 61ST CAS AWARDS | 11 The 61st Annual CAS Awards will mark the 31st anniversary of the CAS's own awards. This year they will be presented in seven categories: In addition to increasing the number of categories, the award recipients have expanded from re-recording and production mixers to now include the ADR, Foley and scoring mixers. 2006 saw the redesign and renaming of the CAS Life Achievement Award. Now called the CAS Career Achievement Award. Also in 2006, the CAS presented its first Filmmaker Award and began the publication of the new CAS Quarterly. Other award changes have been the presentation of Technical Achievement Awards and the Edward J. Greene Award for the Advancement of Sound. In 2016, the CAS presented its first Student Recognition Award. These awards are given to students who have demonstrated potential in the field of sound mixing and/or sound recording and aspire to pursue a career in sound. Over the years, each president and Board member has built on the momentum of their predecessors to grow the CAS. We have not forgotten where we started, we keep pushing the boundaries and look to the future to advance the art of sound. We owe so much of our success to our gifted volunteers and our corporate sponsors, without which we would not be where we are today.
