As you are most likely aware, the Greater Los Angeles area has been ravaged by catastrophic fires fueled by high winds this past week. The MPSE is actively seeking ways to assist those in need, especially our colleagues in sound and filmmaking/entertainment communities. Wildfire Aid Forum mpse.org/Wildfire-Aid-Forum Many of us have friends and/or colleagues who have lost their homes and businesses. In addition to the structural damages, equipment, gear, furniture, studio supplies, and more have all been destroyed. We have created a portal on the MPSE website for the purpose of facilitating donations directly to those who have lost everything. Many of us have unused equipment, computers, gear, furniture, software licenses, and other items that might be invaluable to those in need right now. This forum is an informal place for members to describe what they've lost and for those who are able to offer up items for donation. Facilitation of the exchange will be up to the individual parties. As this is a "members only" page, we trust that everyone will conduct themselves ethically and adhere to the charitable intention of the forum. Charities There are many worthy charities. If you are able, please find a charity of your choosing and consider donating. All donations will help those in need. The MPSE has donated to the Entertainment Community Fund's (ECF) Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund. The ECF is a four-star charity dedicated to giving financial relief to arts and entertainment professionals in need. The MPSE will be matching donations up to a total of $50,000. If this is a charity you are interested in, you can donate at www.justgiving.com/page/mpselafirerelief. To our Los Angeles membership, please be safe. Our hearts are with you. Sincerely, DAVID BARBER MPSE I PRESIDENT
