4 • LMGI COMPASS | Winter 2025 L E T T E R FROM THE PRESIDENT "Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together." –Vincent van Gogh This quote reminds me of the collective a c h i eve m e n ts of o u r G u i l d . Eve r y scout, every collaboration, and every connection we make contributes to the broader success of the LMGI and the elevation of our craft. Together, we've built something extraordinary. But our work is far from finished. This year has been pivotal for the LMGI. The 11th Annual LMGI Awards show was a celebration of the creativity and passion that define our work, reminding the industry of the essential role location professionals play in shaping stories. Beyond the awards, our Guild continues to grow. We've expanded membership, strengthened our presence in emerging markets like Australia and opened doors to untapped opportunities, such our recent explorations in Kyushu, Japan. Growth is more than numbers; it's about building deeper engagement and stronger connections within our community. That's why I'm challenging each of you to take an active role in shaping our future. Share your stories, participate in Guild initiatives, write for the LMGI Compass magazine and advocate for the recognition of our profession. Together, we can ensure our voice is heard and our value understood across the industry. To you, the members of the LMGI, I make this promise: We will continue to work tirelessly to support your growth, amplify your contributions and provide opportunities for your success. From advocating for sustainable practices to fostering a global network that opens new doors, we are committed to ensuring that your work is recognized as an essential, creative force. As we move forward, let's embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with the same passion and commitment that define our craft. Together, we can shape the future of the LMGI and continue to lead the way in the global production landscape.
