As a longtime SAG-AFTRA member, I look forward to the quarterly SAG-AFTRA magazine, and as a member of the background actor community, it was very refreshing to see background actors be recognized. I like the way the article spelled out the gains background actors achieved in the 2023 TV/Theatrical/Streaming contracts while focusing on the importance of "knowing your contracts." For the background actor community, knowing our contacts and participating in the wages and working conditions process only strengthens our ability to continue to achieve gains. It is imperative that all members know the confines of their respective contracts in order to continue to achieve gains. Rick Markman Chair, L.A. Local Background Actor Committee Los Angeles Local WCBS-AM No doubt you have heard the news that my colleagues at WCBS 880 AM will be out of jobs when legacy news radio station WCBS-AM Newsradio 880 changes format. I'm just suggesting that you dedicate some space in the magazine to the impact the people of SAG-AFTRA and this heritage brand have made over its decades of service to the population of New York/New Jersey/Connecticut.
