56 M PS E . O R G them to go out into the world. It is a weird thing because after all that effort, it is basically a one-way conversation. I know people are listening, but it is hard to know what they think of it all. So, doing a sound design meetup is always a little nerve-racking, as they are really the only time I ever get in-person feedback on the show. Luckily, everyone I encountered was extremely nice and the feedback I got was all positive and constructive. The evening was incredibly inspiring to me. I met a bunch of people that I hope to have on the podcast as guests one day soon. I almost want to move to London?! I was also able to do a bunch of interviews for a series that will be rolling out in the coming months called "Motion Picture Sound Editors Presents: Tonebenders Goes to London." I am not exaggerating when I say these are some of my favourite interviews that I have ever done for the podcast. Which is saying a lot, as there are more than 280 previous episodes! We got a bunch of people together that have worked on the sound for James Bond films, for a talk on how that franchise's sound has evolved over the decades. Between the guests, we have every Bond film since 1974 represented?! I was also able to do a deep dive into the sound design of the world of Harry Potter. I was also able to wrangle a group for a roundtable talk on dialogue editing that ended up being an amazing discussion. There will also be an extremely interesting give-and-take between Paul Davies and Johnnie Burn on how they figure out the sonic voice of each new project they tackle. I am really excited for these episodes to get out in the world, so please keep an eye on your podcast player for these episodes. Finally, I got to sit down for a one-on-one with production sound recordist extraordinaire, Simon Hayes, for a talk about how production sound and audio post can work together better on projects to make them as good as they can possibly be. I could chat with Simon for days, he is an engaging, innovative, and creative person. If you are interested in listening but are not familiar with Tonebenders, you can find the show on all the popular podcast locations, including Apple's podcast app on all iPhones, Google, Spotify, and many more. Just search for "Tonebenders" and you will find it. If podcasts are not something you are already familiar with, you can also simply go to www.tonebenderspodcast.com to listen to all these episodes as they roll out. When my time in London came to an end and it was time to grab the train to Heathrow, I was exhausted after this whirlwind trip. I was lucky enough to get tours of a lot of amazing studios, including Pinewood, WB DeLane Lea, Boom, Formosa Trident, and Wave Studios. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The audio post- production community in London is second to none and I really hope I get to be in London again in the future to experience the wonderful people that make it up.
