many other countries as well. Several of the presentations in the MPSE Theatre featured MPSE members sharing their knowledge and experience with audiences regularly filling the room beyond capacity. With every chair full, attendees also sat in the aisles to take in talks about many different sound topics. Well-known Danish sound designer/supervisor Peter Albrechtsen (MPSE), hosted multiple events, including two with supervising sound editor/sound designer/re-recording mixer Craig Henighan (MPSE), who flew in from Los Angeles for Sonic Days. They had in-depth talks about Craig's favourite recent projects. First up was this past summer's blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, followed by Craig's Oscar-nominated work on the 2018 film Roma. For each film, Peter and Craig played various scenes and then broke down how the sound work was done in fine detail. The audience was able to hear play-throughs of these scenes with just the sound effects, dialogue, music, or Foley to hear how the tracks were built and how the mix sculpted them all into the amazing tracks they ended up with. Spirited Q&As with the audience followed all these presentations. Each film was also screened in all their Atmos glory, in the MPSE Theatre, the evening before these talks, to a packed house of conference attendees. The other film presented, for a breakdown of its sound work, was last year's Academy Award winner for Best Sound, The Zone of Interest. Peter Albrechtsen interviewed MPSE member Johnnie Burn on the extensive research and preparation that was done to make that film so devastating to watch. Foley artist Shelley Rodan (MPSE), based in San Francisco at Skywalker Sound, was also in Kolding for Sonic Days.
