T W I S T E R S | P E R S P E C T I V E 4 9 Victor Martinez, Concept Artist The opportunity to work as a Concept Artist on the blockbuster film Twisters was nothing short of exhilarating. Collaborating with the visionary Production Designer Patrick M. Sullivan Jr. and the incredibly talented Supervising Art Director Oana Bogdan Miller allowed me to push the boundaries of creativity and imagination. Under the masterful direction of Lee Isaac Chung, Twisters transformed into a visually stunning and action-packed spectacle, full of gripping scenes that took audiences on a whirlwind adventure. One of the standout sequences I had the pleasure of working on involved a tornado wreaking havoc on a water tower, causing it to topple over and flood the small town's farmer's market. The challenge was to convey the sheer force and destructive power of the tornado through dynamic visuals. Collaborating with Patrick and the rest of the Art Department, we crafted a scene that vividly depicted the chaos as torrents of water surged through the streets, sweeping away everything in their path. The action culminates when people run to the shelter of a nearby theater. Watching the theater's roof being ripped away, exposing the terrified people inside, was a testament to the meticulous detail and realism we strived for in every frame. Working with director Lee Isaac Chung on the action-packed sequences was an absolute thrill. One particularly memorable scene featured a dual tornado tearing through a refinery, setting off massive explosions that lit up the sky. The challenge here was to capture the scale and intensity of the destruction while highlighting the raw power of nature. We explored various dynamic shots to create a sequence that was both visually stunning and emotionally impactful. The sight STORYBOARDS BY BRIDGET SHAW A. RODEO SEQUENCE. A
